Our mission is to...

“Create beautiful sleepwear that feels as good as it looks and to do so with the greatest care for our planet"-Beverley and SusieWe want to share this philosophy, hoping these are your values as well.We make no compromise when it comes to our creative process by always combining the Homebody concept of making contemporary sleepwear and loungewear that enhances comfort, sleep and  wellbeing but with a responsible approach to each element of what it means to be sustainable.Every season we strive for greater transparency in every part of our clothes’ journey and why we have always given due importance to the great skill and dedication of the wonderful local team of makers we work with.

Our Makers

Working in this way means we are helping to create a healthy local economy, bolstering national employment levels in this industry. It also creates a much smaller carbon footprint, contributing less to pollution. And ensures that employees are treated fairly under the strict UK worker protection rights. At Homebody we limit ourselves to small production runs each season, limiting excess stock wherever possible.

Working with our British factory allows us the flexibility to visit often for quality control purposes but also to keep a careful eye on every element of the making journey from how much fabric can we re use for the next season to visiting our team of highly skilled makers and listening to their feedback.

Our Fabrics

Homebody fabrics have one thing in common – an exceptionally soft ‘hand feel ‘that some say, feels like a hug!The exclusive lightweight ‘Modal sens’ fabric and heavier weight ‘Modal snuggle’ fabric are both created from sustainable micro modal Tencel yarns that are so kind and gentle on the skin, evoking a sense of calm and relaxation when worn. The entire process of making the fabric happens locally in the UK.We knit, dye and finish all our fabrics here to minimise our carbon footprint. All fibres are sourced through the Lenzing group to ensure that the wood pulp used to create those fibres comes only from sustainably harvested beechwood trees.

Homebody fabrics and the designs we put our fabric into are incredibly long lasting styles that will stand the test of time for many years - an crucial factor in striving for sustainable fashion

Our Steps

We have chosen Ecologi to partner with as a step towards offsetting our impact on the environment. We work with Ecologi in 3 different areas, reducing our carbon pollution, challenging our carbon footprint and planting our own forest. With every purchase from Homebody we plant a tree.“The restoration of trees remains among the most effective strategies for climate change mitigation” Science magazineIt’s now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.

We also offset all our workers through Ecologi’s reforestation and Carbon offsetting projects. There are so many different projects around the world which are being funded by Ecologi.
